Disney Sketch Color Studies Ahoy!

These are some of my first attempts at adding color to my sketches using Prismacolor colored pencils. Thus far (as you can tell) it’s a struggle. I don’t like the look of the paper showing through, but have yet to figure a blending mode to my liking. I’m also working on color theory and used somewhat random palettes on these, ignoring what they look like in real life.

The plan is to do multiple color tests for each to see what works best. The biggest challenge so far has been evaluating the results objectively, without getting despondent about stuff that doesn’t work out.

I’m not sold on the black lines around everything, but these last two looked way too soft without something. I’m also baffled how I managed to make New Orleans Square look like night time instead of early morning. Obviously, a lot yet to learn.
